A Colorful Summer Wedding in Honesdale, Pennsylvania

The most incredible wedding experiences are made up of a million little details, similar to crafting a perfect recipe that you’ll never forget. Where the wedding will be, what the day should feel like, what you want to see, hear, smell and touch are the base ingredients.

Kate & Mark’s day was packed with the sentimental, intentional details that stemmed from their decision to host the day at her parent’s estate where they had gotten married 40 years prior. The day was filled with so many personal touches including her parents wedding invitation featuring the pond that would be the very backdrop of their own day, handwritten tags that had accompanied the custom tea towels they made as invites and sent out to their guests to write a note on that would be found hanging on a tree they planned to plant at their own home.

Kate wanted the day to embody them as a couple, a beautiful whirlwind of color, the push and pull of their dynamic that brings their balance as a pair and a little bit of everything, everywhere, all at once to welcome their guests into a wedding experience that was quintessentially them.

The day was filled with so much vibrance and motion as Kate twirled her way through the experience bringing her dress from Barbara Kavchok Bridal to life as it fluttered through the air and shifted color in the light.

Each color, space, and experience had the feeling of being undone and raw in the way you only dream of seeing on screen. The way the wildflowers selected for the bouquets played off of the colors hand painted on Kate’s dress. The floral chandelier from Monzie’s Floral brought so much color and character to their tented reception on the property Kate had grown up on. How the floral linens embellished the reception space and the candles set the feeling of a long dinner with friends lingering over a glass of wine.

It’s the planning of the home brewed beer and cider to share with your guests alongside your very own custom beer wall. The opening of the old bottle of scotch gifted to you from a friend to be savored and enjoyed with those you hold dearest. All the little pieces that contribute to the recipe for that perfect, most memorable day spent with those you hold dearest.

The night was filled with an incredible spread of food from Epicurean Delight and heartfelt speeches were made under the tent as the afternoon turned into evening. As the stars came out and the tent was filled with the warm glow of candlelight we danced the night away with Light Weight.
