Vintage Bridal Inspiration for the Philly Bride

If you know me you know I love all things vintage. I adore the collision of old and new and am always fascinated by that relationship while wondering around Philadelphia, there’s just something about the architecture and bustling streets that feels so inspiring to me.

I’ve alway found myself effortlessly inspired by the classics, the pieces of familial history loved and worn by the previous generations, the gorgeous black and white films of the 50’s and 60’s, the stories behind a beloved heirloom, the soft wear and tear on a favorite photograph. I’m not sure I could pinpoint where this love of all things vintage began to creep into my very soul and inspiration behind my art and life but nonetheless, it’s the muse to the nostalgia I aim to create through my work.

I grew up in a house in constant evolution as my mother always was on the hunt for the perfect piece at a thrift shop or antique market to accentuate that next space with an era appropriate furnishing. Each room along with each piece we were on the prowl for was always an intentional exploration of what could be and what felt right. I often find myself stumbling upon this feeling of knowing something will work artistically if I can piece together the parts in just the right way.

This session is a bit of an homage to that nostalgic treasure hunt through an antique shop where I could envision story after story with every piece I saw. I had envisioned a classic bridal session with a vintage flare and the I found this old tv on the end of my time in the antique store I knew it had to come back my studio in the Pajama Factory with me to create some vintage magic.
