Planning a Wedding in Pennsylvania on a Short Timeline: A Summer Wedding at The Country Club of Scranton

Planning a wedding on a shorter timeline can feel overwhelming—but Elizabeth & Jeffrey’s summer wedding at The Country Club of Scranton is proof that a shorter timeline doesn’t need to mean sacrificing beauty, meaning, or joy when it comes to the experience. Throughout the years as I’ve photographed weddings all over Pennsylvania, I’ve seen a variety of timelines play out when it comes to wedding planning and this day was a perfect example of how intentional choices, trust, and having the right vendors by your side can truly make the day come together perfectly. Elizabeth & Jeffrey planned their elegant Scranton Country Club wedding in roughly three months with the guidance of Keira from Silk & Honey Events by their side and it made all the difference.

Planning a Wedding on a Short Timeline: What Matters Most

In chatting with Keira about the process of planning on a shorter timeline she was able to offer so much guidance on what to expect and how to ensure you are able to check off everything on your list. If you’re planning a wedding in Pennsylvania on a condensed timeline—whether it’s three months, six months, or anything shorter than “average”—here are a few key things that make all the difference.

1. Make Quick, Confident Decisions

When you’re planning a full wedding in just a few months, every day (and sometimes every hour) truly counts. Vendor availability changes quickly, and many decisions can’t move forward until the big pieces—like venue, planner, and photographer—are locked in.

With Keira’s help and recommendations, Elizabeth & Jeffrey embraced this wholeheartedly. Once they made a decision, they trusted it and moved forward with confidence. This allowed their planning process to keep momentum and prevented unnecessary stress or second-guessing.

2. Trust the Planner You Hire

When time is limited, there simply isn’t space to compare four or five vendors in every category. Trust becomes essential.

Elizabeth & Jeffrey worked closely with their planner, trusting that the vendors still available would deliver an incredible experience—and that trust paid off in every detail. From florals to flow, everything felt cohesive, intentional, and beautifully executed.

Trusting your planning team is one of the most important things you can do when planning a wedding quickly. A great planner knows which vendors will show up, deliver, and support you fully.

3. Remember to Enjoy the Process

A shorter timeline can feel like a whirlwind—but there’s usually a beautiful reason behind it. Whether it’s life circumstances, excitement, or simply knowing you don’t want to wait, it’s important to pause and remember why you’re doing this.

That joy was palpable on their wedding day and carried through every moment of the event. They had so many things they were excited to do and were able to still  tie in personal elements like a hot dog bar, hand rolled cigars and lots of fun candids with family members.

A Heartfelt Ceremony at Hope Church in Scranton

Elizabeth & Jeffrey’s ceremony at Hope Church in Scranton, Pennsylvania was deeply personal with Jeffrey’s dad officiating, sharing words that felt intimate, heartfelt, and uniquely theirs. Surrounded by lush greenery and singing hymns together, the ceremony felt both elegant and grounded.

One especially meaningful detail: Elizabeth wore heirloom pearls passed down from her mom, a sentimental touch that beautifully connected past and present on such an important day. They perfectly complimented the Jenny Yoo gown with its timeless lines and her cathedral veil from Tara Lauren that she picked from Vow Floral Formal.

Thoughtful Speeches & Family-Centered Moments

The reception was filled with stories that captured who Elizabeth & Jeffrey are at their core. One standout moment was Elizabeth’s dad sharing a story about watching Jeffrey rake leaves at their house and how he could never get his kids to do this but here was his daughter's boyfriend willing to help out—quietly realizing in that moment that this was someone truly special.

Each toast echoed the same themes: Jeffrey’s steady, caring nature and his ability to enjoy the moment and be present; Elizabeth’s drive and heart; and the way they balance each other so naturally.

I loved capturing all of the laughter and joy emanating from the guests during the speeches and dances because these are the moments that make a wedding day feel all the more tangible as you look back on your photos in years to come.
