My Favorite Wedding Venues in Philadelphia and Beyond
Choosing your Philadelphia wedding venue is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make during the planning process. Your venue influences everything from the overall feeling of the day to your timeline, guest experience, and, of course, your wedding photos!
Luckily, Philadelphia and the surrounding areas have no shortage of beautiful options. Whether you’re picturing a lush garden ceremony, a candlelit dinner in the city, or a private estate that feels completely removed from everyday life, there’s absolutely a venue for you.
As a Philadelphia wedding photographer, I’m always paying attention to how a venue photographs throughout the entire day—not just during the ceremony. I look for beautiful light, plenty of variety, private places where couples can slow down together, and settings that allow moments to unfold naturally. Here we go!
Normandy Farm
Normandy Farm combines historic character with the convenience of a hotel and full-scale event venue. Located in Blue Bell, the property blends its original farm architecture with contemporary event spaces, making it a great option for couples who want warmth and character without sacrificing modern amenities.
From a photography perspective, one of my favorite things about Normandy Farm is the evening light. The property gets the most gorgeous golden-hour glow, creating soft, romantic portraits that feel effortlessly beautiful.
Having so much space to explore also gives us flexibility throughout the day. We can create plenty of variety without needing to leave the venue or interrupt the flow of your celebration!
Pomme Radnor
Pomme is tucked into a peaceful woodland setting on Philadelphia’s Main Line. The grounds include wooded paths, a pond, a bridge, a stream, and a ceremony space with a custom pergola. Inside, the ballroom was designed to bring the outdoors in with large windows, natural materials, and high ceilings.
The ceremony setting is incredibly lush, and there are so many great spots for photos within a relatively small area. This means we can create a full gallery with plenty of visual variety without spending your wedding day running from one end of a massive property to the other.
Pomme also feels intimate even when it’s filled with guests. The surrounding trees create a private, tucked-away feeling that makes emotional moments feel even more personal.
Terrain at Styer’s
Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills is one of my favorite venues for couples who love an organic, garden-inspired setting. The space was thoughtfully designed around nature, pairing indoor and outdoor gathering areas with the venue’s nearly century-old wooden ceremony temple.
Everything at Terrain feels lush, textured, and naturally beautiful. There are so many strong photo locations throughout the property, from the gardens and greenhouse-inspired spaces to quieter areas where couples can step away for a few minutes together.
Those private places are especially valuable on a wedding day. They give you room to breathe, reconnect, and actually take in what’s happening—and they often lead to some of my favorite photographs!
Despite its popularity, Terrain still feels incredibly intimate. It’s a beautiful choice for couples who want their wedding to feel thoughtful and welcoming rather than overly formal.
Morris Arboretum & Gardens
Morris Arboretum is technically located within Philadelphia, but entering the property feels like leaving the city behind completely. Couples receive access to 92 acres of gardens, with multiple ceremony settings and outdoor cocktail-hour options throughout the grounds.
Cocktail hour in the gardens feels genuinely magical—like we’ve briefly wandered onto the set of Bridgerton, minus the complicated social politics and suspiciously well-timed string quartet.
From a photography perspective, the possibilities are almost endless. Sweeping lawns, flower gardens, wooded paths, historic stonework, fountains, and elevated walkways all provide completely different settings within one property.
Morris Arboretum feels romantic without trying too hard. The natural surroundings already create so much atmosphere, allowing your photos to feel beautiful while still keeping the focus on you, your guests, and the moments happening throughout the day.
Aldie Mansion
Located in Doylestown, Aldie Mansion is a Tudor Revival manor surrounded by historic architecture and beautiful grounds. The estate is approximately an hour from Center City Philadelphia, making it a strong option for couples who want a private estate setting that’s still accessible from the city.
There are so many incredible nooks and corners to explore here. Every doorway, stone wall, garden path, and interior room offers a different backdrop, which gives us plenty of opportunities to create portraits that feel layered and distinctive.
Aldie Mansion also feels wonderfully private. There’s a sense that the property belongs entirely to you for the day, which makes the celebration feel more personal and allows everyone to settle into the experience.
It’s romantic, historic, and full of visual interest—basically, a photographer’s version of being handed the keys to a very beautiful candy store.
Harp & Crown
For couples drawn to moodier interiors and a less traditional wedding setting, Harp & Crown is such a fun option. Located on Sansom Street in Center City, the restaurant combines old-world details with a modern sensibility—and there’s even a bowling alley downstairs at Elbow Lane. Private events can range from intimate group dining to larger receptions and full buyouts.
The style feels like dark academia met a beautiful Philadelphia restaurant and decided to throw a dinner party. The distressed walls, vintage details, rich textures, and low lighting create an atmosphere that looks completely different from a traditional ballroom.
The food is also incredible, which is always a meaningful part of the guest experience. Because Harp & Crown is in Center City, we can easily step outside for portraits around Philadelphia before returning for dinner and dancing. You get the energy and architecture of the city alongside an intimate, character-filled reception space!
And yes, wedding-day bowling photos are every bit as fun as they sound.
HOTEL DU PONT
Although HOTEL DU PONT is located in Wilmington, it’s close enough to Philadelphia that couples can still incorporate the city into part of their wedding-day plans. The hotel is known for its historic architecture and grand event spaces, including the Gold Ballroom with European chandeliers, hand-carved details, and terrazzo floors. Couples can host their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception under one roof!
This venue feels elevated and chic in a way that photographs beautifully. The architecture provides plenty of drama, but it never needs to compete with the people in the frame.
The surrounding area is also relatively quiet and easy to walk, allowing us to create outdoor portraits without navigating the same level of foot traffic we might encounter in Center City. It’s a great option for couples who love a polished, editorial look but still want their photographs to feel warm and personal.
The Inn at Fox Briar Farm
The Inn at Fox Briar Farm is a private estate wedding venue in Bucks County. Couples receive access to the inn and surrounding property, and the venue hosts one wedding per weekend with exclusive use of its private 50-acre setting.
Everything about Fox Briar feels secluded and personal. Because you’re not sharing the property with other events, the entire day can unfold at a more relaxed pace. It’s especially stunning in the fall, when the surrounding landscape becomes a showstopper all on its own. The changing leaves add warmth and depth to the photographs without requiring much additional décor.
This is another venue where couples could spend part of the day taking photos in Philadelphia before heading outside the city for the celebration. It gives you the best of both settings: iconic city portraits and a quiet private estate!
Bellevue Hall
Located in Wilmington, Bellevue Hall is a former du Pont family estate dating back to the 1800s. The property includes the historic mansion, gardens, indoor and outdoor ceremony options, private getting-ready suites, and a tented reception space overlooking the grounds.
The architecture is absolutely gorgeous and gives us so much to work with throughout the day. The mansion brings a sense of history and grandeur, while the gardens and open grounds keep the setting from feeling overly formal.
Bellevue Hall also feels very private, giving couples and their guests room to settle in and enjoy the celebration. From a photography perspective, that combination of privacy, architecture, and outdoor space is hard to beat.
A Few Honorable Mentions
There are far too many beautiful Philadelphia-area wedding venues to fit into one list, so these deserve a moment, too!
Curtis Arboretum
Curtis Arboretum offers an artsy estate setting with indoor and outdoor spaces surrounded by gardens and sculptures. It’s a great option for couples who want greenery, architecture, and creative details all in one location.
Parque at Ridley Creek
Located within the 2,600-acre Ridley Creek State Park, Parque pairs a historic mansion with stone architecture, gardens, and a light-filled wedding suite. It feels secluded and romantic while remaining close to Philadelphia.
The Willows
The Willows in Villanova is another beautiful Main Line option for couples searching for an estate-style wedding setting. Its convenient location makes it especially appealing for couples who want to stay near Philadelphia while enjoying a quieter atmosphere!
