Melissa and Tyler’s May wedding at DiSalvo’s in Williamsport, Pennsylvania was the perfect blend of timeless romance, editorial style, and a bit of rainy-day magic. Their day felt elevated and elegant from start to finish, with thoughtful details, an emotional ceremony, and a high-energy reception that made for some incredible memories.
As a wedding photographer I find myself shooting weddings all over Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the surrounding states, but it’s always special to capture a wedding that in a place that was home for several years like Williamsport. I loved every minute of documenting this celebration—from the emotional getting ready moments, the spring rain, shared laughs and the packed dance floor at the end of the night. Every part of the day reflected the Melissa & Tyler’s laid-back connection and personal style.
Getting Ready in Style: Pajama Factory & City Hall Grand Hotel
The day began in two of Williamsport’s most unique, historic spaces. Melissa got ready in the Pajama Factory, a creative and industrial-chic space that gave us gorgeous textures and natural light for her editorial portraits and detail shots. Meanwhile, Tyler and his groomsmen prepped for the day in the classic elegance of the City Hall Grand Hotel, a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Williamsport.
A Romantic, Rainy Ceremony at DiSalvo’s
Melissa and Tyler’s ceremony at DiSalvo’s was a beautiful outdoor affair in the courtyard, sprinkled with little bits of rain. Guests mingled together under umbrellas during the ceremony and just as the couple came back down the aisle as newlyweds, the clouds parted and the sun broke through—just in time for the most iconic dip kiss bathed in golden light. It was pure magic. Melissa and Tyler handled the uncertainty of the weather with total grace, soaking in the joy and support of their people and making the absolute most of every moment.
Heartfelt Speeches, Handmade Pasta & A Wild Dance Floor
The reception inside DiSalvo’s elegant ballroom brought out the full range of emotions. From sentimental speeches to deep belly laughs, you could feel how loved and celebrated this couple was; one of my absolute favorite things to observe and capture on a wedding day. One of the most memorable touches? DiSalvo’s Dried pasta wedding favors, lovingly wrapped with a note that read: “All you need is love and pasta.” It was a sweet, meaningful nod to the couple’s love of sharing good food with good company.
As the night went on, the energy on the dance floor reached peak celebration. Guests danced with golden ribbon wands, packed shoulder to shoulder, and sang their hearts out. I jokingly told the videographer I wouldn’t be surprised if someone started body surfing—and sure enough, both Melissa and Tyler were hoisted into the air and carried around the dance floor in one of the most unforgettable moments of the night.
